Mazatlan, Mexico

We were so blessed by a wonderful week long vacation as a family in Mazatlan, Mexico! Some dear friends of ours told us about this place. It is so beautiful and so relaxing! We stayed in a house that had three bedrooms (which means the boys each had their own room=better sleeping), a pool in the backyard, a full kitchen, and it was also within a resort. The resort has a private beach and some very fun pools! We spent most of our days like this:

7 a.m. : Mom or Dad and Sam go to get coffee from the resort
7:30 a.m.: eat breakfast
8:30 a.m. Jacob wakes up and eats breakfast
9:00 a.m. head to the beach
11:00 a.m. head to the pool
12:00 p.m. eat lunch at the pool
1:00 p.m. go back to the house and watch movies/rest
2:00 p.m.: David and Sam play golf
3:00 p.m. swim in the backyard
5:00 p.m. cook dinner aka pb&j or quesadillas, or room service
6:00 p.m. eat dinner
6:30 p.m. swim in the backyard
7:30 p.m. make and eat smores
8:00 p.m. movie night/kids crash/off to bed

It was such a fun time!

Some of my favorite things were:

Sam telling me that it is very hard to sleep in another country.
Jacob saying "hola!" to every single person we passed
Watching the boys see iguanas
Being together 24/7...which can be hard at times, but it was more fun than hard
Watching the boys play together
Having nothing to do except play

Some of my not-so-favorite things:
riding in a taxi in Mexico with a two year old...no seatbelts!
wal-mart (but I could say that about anywhere)
the gazillion birds that sang through the night. Sam said that he wished birds were not nocturnal :)

I've said this before on this blog, but I always forget how special it is to spend time just as the four of us. There is something unique about it and I want to try to make sure we do trips like this often! We are so grateful to our friends who shared their favorite place with us!
