Fourth of July

We had a great day together as a family to celebrate the fourth!  We thought that David was going to have to go out of town on the fourth, but he ended up not having to leave (and he's still home), so it was extra sweet!  We got up and had a normal morning, then headed to Market street for lunch.  We rode the trolley over to Barnes and Noble to play and then rode it back to our car.  After that, we went to my grandparent's house to hang out with the family and some dear friends. Sam got to play baseball with 13 year old Preston (who was the ring bearer in our wedding), so he felt so special.  And, Preston was so patient with Sam and played and played with him!  Then, we came home and played in the backyard for awhile.  I hadn't planned on fixing dinner since I was expecting David to be out of town, so we headed to Rico's for some dinner.

And, because nothing says Happy Fourth of July like some tex mex.

We came home and took baths and put the kids in their pjs and headed back to Market street to watch the fireworks.  Sam was so excited about going to see them.  On the way there, he made up a song about how he was going to see the fireworks and how they would go boom.  I think that Sam had more fun running around in the grass and wrestling with David than he had actually watching the fireworks, but it was a ton of fun.  I hope you had a great day, too!
