18 Months

Dear Jacob,
Where have the last 18 months gone?  I cannot believe how fast you are growing up.  I love you to pieces.  I'm so glad that I get to be your mommy.  You are such a joy to our family.  You bring laughter that we would not have if you weren't here.  You make us run faster than we knew we could.  You keep us watching you even though you'd prefer not to be watched at all.  You are so independent, my child.  You are completely content to be in a room by yourself.  The only problem with that is that you can get into a heap of trouble quick if I let you stay by yourself.  Just the other day, I left the room for about 15 seconds and when I walked back in, you were on top of a table.  You love to climb and you love to try to jump.  I hope that those two don't go together any time soon!  You would rather run all over the house than sit and play with anything at this stage of your sweet life, but you are starting to give a little bit of attention to some toys...mainly ones that move.  Jacob, you make everyone that you meet feel like they are the most important person you've ever met.  You'll let anyone hold you and you act like you'd stay in their arms forever.  I'm glad I get to be the one to hold you every night!  You say hi to everyone and goodbye to everyone.  You love to blow kisses to anyone you are saying goodbye to.  I love your sanguine personality.  It is a very welcome breath of fresh air in our house!  Right now, you love to dance and are so adorable when you do it.  You sing to us all of the time and want everyone to dance with you.  You don't say a ton of words yet, but you talk constantly.  If only we knew what you were saying!  You will walk up to me or your daddy and say something with the inflection of a question and when we respond, you just smile and go on your merry way.  We are so glad that you are a happy boy.  You sure make us happy all of the time!  Happy one and a half.  We love you!
