Friends

We had some of our good friends over to play the other day and our time together made me so thankful for them. These are the type of friends that I asked to come over when I knew my house was a mess and I knew that they wouldn't even think twice about the fact that it was. These friends are the type that will go in my cabinets to get a cup and not pay attention to the fact that I am not organized. The type whose children are comfortable enough to go in my pantry and get a snack. These friends are priceless to me because I never have to worry about what they think; I know that they love me no matter what. I know that they would call me out on something if needed. Their kids act just like they are at home when they are here and there is really nothing that warms my heart more than that. And, Sam definitely acts like he is at home at their houses as well.
I have known these friends through pregnancies, births, long cries about big stuff and little stuff, laughs, discipline issues, sleeping issues, etc. They are like family to me!

Our kids act like brothers and sisters as well. Sam and Addison boss each other and stick up for each other. Sam and Wesley play like boys together. They get mad at each other and they hug each other in the next second. They have very sweet relationships. For the first time, Kim, Michele and I got to just sit in my kitchen and talk while the kids played by themselves in the next room. No telling what was going on in there, but about 30 minutes into it, Sam and Addison started calling for us and the three of them were sitting on the piano bench. It was the cutest thing! When the three of them were sitting at the table eating their lunch, they had a complete conversation where they were laughing at each other and we had no clue as to what they were saying. It was perfect. We played outside and each of the kids gave each other a ride in the tractor and Wesley and Sam found sticks to play with...that's when we came in!

I know this is kind of random, but I just had to take a minute to think about how thankful I am for my friends. I am blessed to say that I have a whole group of friends who are real, genuine people who never try to fake it. I get to work with women who mentor me and keep me accountable in ways I could never ask for. I am surrounded by blessings that are women who love Jesus more than anything and each one of them make me want to love Him more.

I love the precious pics and all your sweet thoughts. Your so kind to call us comfortable, instead of intrusive, for digging through your kitchen! We should for sure make this a Friday thing!
