Thanksgiving Week: Thursday...the day!

For turkey day, we headed over to my grandparent's house for lunch!  It was a very relaxing time just being with family.  Sam, Caleb, Sarah and Jacob played in the backyard for the entire time and wore each other out!  Nanny made a fabulous turkey, mom made the dressing, Amy made sweet potato casserole (my favorite) and I made the mashed potatoes.  I think that there were some green vegetables, too, but I stuck with a fully starched plate that day!  It was so yummy!  We also had an apple pie, an apple-rasberry pie, pumpkin pie and and apple cake.  Jacob loved the pumpkin pie!  We have so much to be thankful for this year.  I had a fun time looking through our "Thanksgiving Book" and reading what we have been thankful for each year.  I think that this year, we would say that we are most thankful for God's faithfulness.  It is amazing to watch His provisional hand work.  This has been a pretty big year for us!  Right at the beginning, we welcomed our sweet Jacob into this world.  He is a true gift to us!  We saw the Lord give us new mercy everyday as we learned how to become a family of four.  Then, later in the year, David and five other guys started their own company.  As we look back, it is blatantly obvious how the Lord has prepared David for this season.  The six guys that form this company have very specific skills and it is rare to find them all together.  The experiences that have been put in front of David over the last seven years have definitely prepared him for this venture and it is only the Lord that certain things have happened.  We are thankful and in awe of Him!  A couple of weeks ago, we had a family member that has been out of touch for years....years call my grandparents.  A relief like no other has swept over our family because of this answer to prayer.  God is truly faithful!
