Dentist

Sam went to the dentist for the first time today!  He did great.  No cavities.  Yay Sam!  I guess all the fights over brushing every single day are worth it!

The whole experience was interesting for me.  We went in and got to play in their "game room" for a while.  Then, a hygienist came in and got Sam and took him back to clean his teeth.  I wanted to be with him, I did not want him to have to go through it all on his own, but he was a big boy about it and they said that he did great.  I didn't hear any screaming, so I am pretty sure he was fine.  Then, they came and got me and I got to watch the dentist do the exam.  Sam was so great through it all and did exactly what they told him to do.  That is a victory in and of itself!  When we got in the car, Sam asked me why I didn't come back there with him with huge tears in his eyes and that about did me in, but I know that he did fine and we only have to do it twice a year!  I am so proud of him!
